How it works
In normal conditions the duct renews the air quietly and at low velocity. In a fire, the same duct switches to smoke extraction and removes smoke from the fire compartment while keeping its fire resistance.
When it is worth it
In buildings where smoke extraction is mandatory and space for services is tight: offices, hotels, museums, renovations with low ceiling heights. The decision has to be taken early, at the MEP design stage.
